Hawaii climate

The Hawaiian Islands offer a range of microclimates due to the volcanoes’ barrier effect. Weather varies greatly between sunny beaches, chilled mountain peaks, humid tropical forests and arid deserts. The season from December to April is most likely to offer good weather with pleasant average temperatures between 20°C (68°F) and 26°C (79°F).

Temperatures in Hawaii stay quite constant throughout the year. At sea level, the highest recorded temperature is about 35°C (95°F), while the lowest is about 11°C (52°F). Another factor that influences the climate is elevation; the Mauna Kea volcano amounts to 4,207 m (13,796 ft).

As you go higher, the temperature gets colder, with freezing temperatures and snowfall during winter. Knowing what the average temperatures and the number of rainy days will likely be at the time of your trip will help you determine if this is the best time to dive in Hawaii.
